THE OFFICIAL FUNDRAISING LETTER
In 2008, my mother lost her battle with Multiple Myeloma, a rare blood cancer with one of the lowest survival rates any cancer. Initially diagnosed in 1995, and given a survival prognosis of about 3 years, mom used a patented Carol Baxt combination of sheer will and the latest information about Myeloma and its most current treatments to fight on for 13 years. The will power came from her unending love of life and for her family. (There was nothing that was going to keep her from being a grandmother, even if it was only for a short time.) The information came from resources like the MMRF.
With generous help from people like Carol - who was an active fundraiser while she was alive - and you, the MMRF has turned the drug development process on its ear, and consistently finds new ways to bring treatments to patients faster. In the 14 years that the MMRF has been in existence, the life expectancy of a patient has more than doubled…and they’re just getting warmed up. The ultimate goal is a cure, and donations like yours will get them there someday.
Please help the cause and support me as I ride to honor of my mom and help advance the cure for Myeloma. An amazing 93% of all monies raised by the MMRF through events like this go directly to research. You also can take comfort in the fact that the MMRF is one of the most highly accredited charities in the world, and continually receives awards from charity watch dog organizations like Charity Navigator. Bottom line, this charity is no joke. Your money will make a difference.
I urge you to visit http://tinyurl.com/carolsride and donate what you can. I’ve made a commitment to raise at least $3500 for the MMRF, but I’m more than happy to move that goal higher and higher.
No donation is too small (or too big!) and, with your help, I personally guarantee that I will destroy Multiple Myeloma by riding a bicycle.
