I said I would post The Official Star-Studded Proposal on a Plane Video if I got $500 in new donations to support my ride for the MMRF by Monday.
I ended up getting $1725 in new donations, and so it goes up.
This video played on American Airlines Flight 2, as we flew from LAX to JFK on August 15, 1997. I spent the prior 2 months cobbling it together during shoots that I was doing for Access Hollywood. No one turned down my request to help out, although, years later, when I thanked Jon Favreau at the junket for Elf, he remarked that he never would have agreed to do it if I had asked him then.
If I had to do the whole thing over again, I probably would have worn a nicer outfit and lightened up a little during the actual taping. But, in my defense, you try getting down on your knee in front of 4 union cameramen and a control room full of people.
Oh, and for the record, Lainie said yes. We also ended up getting upgrades for all of our flights on American over the next year.
